Clarifying the Complexities

of Iowa’s Mental Health System

Code chapters, administrative files, legislative jargon.

Does anyone really have time to read and understand everything that lawmakers have written?

Even if you read it all, who do you contact with questions?

I have over 20 years working in mental health as a licensed therapist, a state legislator, and consultant.

I have navigated the system and understand it better than anyone.

I want to use what I have learned to help those who are so committed to serving others. If you are stuck and don’t know what to do or who to call, let me be your guide.

Renee and her team conducted a very thorough evaluation of the existing (or lack of) Behavioral Health services in North Dakota. Her report was extremely well written and provided not only a historical background, but more importantly numerous key recommendations to implement which would significantly improve Behavior Health services in ND. The legislature working with the North Dakota Department of Human Services has been implementing a majority of the recommends Renee made in her report.
